Utah Emergency Rental Assistance Programs

Utah CARES+ Programs:

• Utah Rental Assistance Program/Housing Assistance Program 

The Rental Assistance Program has been funded by the CARES Act and is designed to assist Utah renters whose ability to pay rent has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, but whose
needs are not being met by other programs. Primarily this funding should assist those who are not eligible for unemployment benefits. .

• Moab COVID-19 Housing Relief Fund Program 

City of Moab, Grand County and the Housing Authority of South Eastern Utah will oversee the distribution of donated funds to support rental assistance. Funds distributed directly to landlords every two weeks. Households with no or limited access to other sources of assistance can receive one month of assistance.

• Summit County Financial Assistance Program 

The Park City Community Foundation recently announced the recipients of $1 million in grants provided by Summit County’s federal coronavirus relief funds, with the bulk of the money going to one nonprofit to deliver direct aid to families struggling with the threat of homelessness. Jewish Family Service was awarded nearly $420,000, most of which Executive Director Ellen Silver said would be used for direct assistance, like rent payments.

• COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program: Weber County 

Nearly $400,000 has been earmarked to help Weber County residents impacted by COVID-19, out of work and struggling to pay their rent. The funds come thanks to the federal CARES Act, the initiative aimed at helping countering the economic downturn brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money is funneled to Weber County through the state.
